I am an experienced artist who lives in Purbrook, Hampshire, and specialises in realism using acrylics.  I love to paint seascapes, landscapes, animals and beloved pets.  I focus on contrasts of light and dark and create atmospheric paintings.

The artistic influence came from my great grandmother, who loved painting roses.  I used to paint roses using oil paint, but I fell in love with acrylic after attending art classes and workshops, in preparation for my retirement in 2018.  I did not see retirement as an end to my work life, but a start to my art career.

2023 was a busy year from me, with many commissions asked for.  Take a look at my Home page, and you will see my most recent work that was painted with love.  I also entered three paintings in my first prestigious art exhibition at Rookesbury Park and actually sold one of my seascapes, which I was so happy about.  

​

2024 has started well.  Today I received a Credit from Portsmouth Art Group, for my painting which is displayed on the front of my Home page.  It is the Snow scene which is currently sitting on my hall wall!  I have to admit, it is one of my favourite landscapes. 

 

I am currently working on a commission of a beautiful dog named Hugo, which I will post when it is finished, so watch this space.....
